Metro Mattress is shutting down its Auburn location after more than 20 years, following the company’s bankruptcy filing, according to The Citizen.
The closure is part of a broader wind-down as the regional bedding retailer struggles with rising inflation, tariffs, and shifting consumer spending. Furniture and bedding prices alone rose 4.7% in August.
