Suspects indicted and arrested this month

Following an extensive investigation, authorities identified two suspects. In September 2025, Steuben County Court issued sealed indictment warrants for both.

On September 16, police arrested 36-year-old Damian C. Vanvleck of Bath. He’s charged with:

  • Robbery in the 1st degree (Class B felony)
  • Menacing in the 2nd degree (Class A misdemeanor)
  • Petit larceny (Class A misdemeanor)

Vanvleck was arraigned in Steuben County Court and remanded to jail with the opportunity for bail.

Six days later, on September 22, officers arrested 40-year-old Nathaniel C. Tucker in the City of Hornell. Tucker faces the same charges as Vanvleck, along with:

  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree (Class D felony)

Tucker was also arraigned and sent to Steuben County Jail with bail eligibility.

No threat to community during investigation

Bath Police say the robbery was an isolated incident and posed no ongoing threat to the public. They also thanked the Hornell Police Department for assisting in Tucker’s arrest.
