Geneva residents will have their first chance to weigh in on next year’s city budget during a special council meeting Tuesday, September 23.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the second-floor chambers at City Hall, 47 Castle Street. It will also stream live on the city’s YouTube channel.
The centerpiece of Tuesday’s meeting is a public hearing on the proposed 2026 city budget — giving residents and local leaders a chance to discuss spending priorities, potential tax changes, and ongoing financial challenges.
In addition to the budget hearing, council is expected to make a board or commission appointment and continue its discussion on the 2026 budget.
Mayor Steve Valentino will call the meeting to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.
Residents who want to speak during the public hearing must attend in person. For those who prefer to listen from home, the meeting will be streamed at youtube.com/@CityofGenevaNY.
