A Waterloo man is facing multiple charges after police say he violated an order of protection and engaged in a pattern of stalking behavior.

The Waterloo Police Department reports that officers arrested 28-year-old Zachary G. Valder on June 30 at approximately 1:42 p.m. on an outstanding warrant. Valder was charged with Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree, Stalking in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Contempt in the First Degree.

According to the investigation, Valder allegedly sent messages to a protected party in violation of a court order, causing the recipient to fear injury and property damage. Authorities said the messages were part of a continued course of conduct that met the criteria for stalking.

In addition to the harassment-related charges, officers also executed a warrant for violation of probation.

Valder was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he awaits central arraignment.
