North Carolina men arrested in Seneca County robbery case

Two men from North Carolina were arrested in Seneca County following a robbery investigation that led to the discovery of an active fugitive warrant.

Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson reported that on June 4 at approximately 3:30 p.m., investigators arrested Christopher C. Conley, 28, and Austin H. Autry, 36, both of Spring Lake, North Carolina. Conley was charged with robbery in the third degree and criminal impersonation in the second degree. Autry was identified as a fugitive from justice wanted on felony domestic violence charges in North Carolina.

Conley is accused of forcefully taking a wallet from a person in the Town of Ovid. During the investigation, he allegedly gave officers false names multiple times. Autry was questioned at the scene, and authorities discovered he had an active nationwide extraditable warrant.

Both men were arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Part Court. Conley was released, as his charges do not qualify for bail under current law. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Ovid Court at a later date. Autry remains in custody pending extradition to North Carolina.
