A violent assault on Washington Street in Auburn sent one person to the hospital Sunday evening, according to authorities. Police confirmed the victim was taken to Upstate Hospital for treatment.
The Auburn Police Department alerted the public around 4:30 p.m. to avoid the area near West and Wall Streets due to an active crime scene. The road has since reopened, and officials emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the community.
