Deputies: Canandaigua Woman Falsely Reported Sexual Assault

Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Canandaigua woman for filing a false report of sexual assault, following an investigation that determined the claim was baseless.

Robin Lynn Vertigans-Bush, 44, was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree on April 17. Deputies allege she knowingly provided false information to law enforcement.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation found that Vertigans-Bush’s reported allegation of sexual assault was fabricated. She was arrested at the Ontario County Jail, where she was already in custody on unrelated charges.

Vertigans-Bush was held for Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court and is scheduled to appear in Farmington Town Court to respond to the charge.

The case was investigated by Investigator Anthony DiMariano.
