Syracuse men’s lacrosse defeats Towson for first NCAA Tournament win since 2017

The Syracuse men’s lacrosse team won its first NCAA Tournament game since 2017 with a 20-15 victory over Towson on Sunday night.

The Orange trailed 9-8 at halftime but came out on fire in the third quarter, scoring nine straight goals and never looking back.

Joey Spallina scored four goals and dished out four assists to lead the offense for the Orange. Owen Hiltz had a six-point night, scoring four goals and adding two assists. Jake Stevens recorded a hat trick, while Finn Thomson tallied two goals and two helpers.

Syracuse will face Denver on Sunday, May 19, with a spot in the Final Four on the line. The time of the game is to be determined.
