Man shot five times in Ithaca, police searching for shooter

Ithaca police have identified the suspect they believe is responsible for shooting a man five times outside of a parking garage Wednesday.

Police say 30-year-old Shane Lott of Rochester was shot around 9:45 a.m. in front of the Green St. Garage.

Investigators found a 357-caliber revolver, but not the shooter, who they believe is Andrae Martin, 33.

Lott was taken to Cayuga Medical Center and transferred to a regional trauma center for surgery, police said. He is now in the ICU.

One man is in custody in connection to the shooting. Police arrested Woodrow Turner, 38, and charged him with criminal possession in the second degree and tampering of evidence.

“Incidents of violence like this in our city are so troubling because, in part, they’re so rare,” said Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick.
