Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reported the arrest of Jevonte T. Harris, 29, and Carlos Marquez, 35, both of Rochester on May 15. The two were charged with Petit Larceny, but now face additional charges.
The arrests followed allegations that Harris and Marquez stole merchandise from a local business. Further investigation revealed that both suspects had also stolen over $1000 worth of merchandise from the same business on May 12.
Consequently, they were charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Conspiracy in the fifth degree. Additionally, Marquez faced charges of Criminal Impersonation in the second degree and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the first degree for assuming another identity and signing paperwork under that name.
Both suspects were arraigned and are set to reappear in the Town of Waterloo Court at a later date. The New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
