Newark man arrested for DWI after 911 complaint at McDonald’s

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Geovani Perez-Lopez, 30, from the Village of Newark, following a 911 complaint. Perez-Lopez was charged with Driving While Intoxicated-Common Law and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content above 0.08%, among other traffic violations.

The arrest occurred after deputies responded to a complaint at the McDonald’s in the Village of Newark. Upon arrival, deputies detected the odor of alcohol on Perez-Lopez’s breath. He failed the standardized field sobriety tests administered by the deputies.

Perez-Lopez was arrested and taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he submitted to a breathalyzer test. He was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released, pending his court appearance on June 5.
