Ontario County sheriff's deputies have charged a woman with felony grand larceny after a Victor sporting goods store reported about $2,700 in Stanley cups stolen across 20 incidents.
Deputies arrested Kelly Ashcraft, 50, of Canandaigua outside Dick's Sporting Goods in Victor at about 11:39 a.m. Wednesday, according to a release from the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation began with a shoplifting complaint Sunday, Sept. 27, after the store's asset protection staff noticed a large number of the cups missing, the sheriff's office said.
Staff reviewed security video and identified incidents dating from Aug. 22 through Wednesday, according to deputies.
Store staff reported seeing Ashcraft conceal and take merchandise Wednesday before deputies arrested her outside the store, the release said.
Ashcraft was taken to the Ontario County Jail and held pending arraignment, deputies said.
