Two men face felony drug charges after Geneva police detectives and an Ontario County SWAT team executed no-knock search warrants at two city residences early Sept. 2, authorities said.
The warrants were served at about 6 a.m. Sept. 2 after a several-week investigation into narcotics sales in Geneva, according to a release from the Geneva Police Department. Police said the investigation focused on suspected crack cocaine sales from homes on Hallenbeck Avenue and Cherry Street.
Darnell T. Dye, 43, of Geneva, and Julius K. Williams, 51, of Rochester, were each charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony, police said. The department identified both men as convicted felons.
Investigators alleged Dye sold crack cocaine from the Hallenbeck Avenue residence and Williams sold crack cocaine from the Cherry Street residence. The release did not identify the exact addresses, describe any drugs or other property seized during the searches, or announce additional charges.
Both men were processed at the Geneva Police Department before being taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment, according to police. The department did not provide the outcome of their arraignments or any information about bail in the release.
Geneva police said the Ontario County Sheriff's Office and its SWAT team assisted with the warrants. The department also credited the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police and Canandaigua Police Department with helping during the investigation.
