A Steuben County Jail inmate was charged with felony assault after allegedly injuring another inmate, according to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested Jonathan A. Rivaldo, 29, of Chestnut Street in Corning on Tuesday following an investigation into the alleged assault inside the jail.
Investigators said Rivaldo, who was already incarcerated, assaulted another inmate and caused an injury.
Rivaldo was charged with second-degree assault, a Class D felony.
The injured inmate was treated by medical staff at the jail, according to the sheriff's office.
Rivaldo was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and returned to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
