A truck crossed the median on state Route 481 in Clay after a tire failure Wednesday afternoon, but no injuries were reported, State Police said.
The crash happened around 12:35 p.m. as a 2018 Mack truck driven by Paul M. Vaquez, 41, of Syracuse, was traveling south, according to police.
Investigators said the truck's left front drive tire failed, causing Vaquez to lose control. The vehicle crossed the median and stopped in the right northbound lane facing southeast.
The truck, owned by Whitaker Trucking, was damaged, as was the highway median. The state Department of Transportation responded to assess the damage.
Police said the commercial vehicle did not have a valid inspection. Vaquez received three tickets, including third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
State Police were assisted by the Clay Fire Department and state transportation officials. The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit and Traffic Incident Management Unit also responded.
