A former Geneva High School assistant principal pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child in Ontario County, according to 13WHAM-TV. The plea came ahead of a trial that had been scheduled for July 28.
James Nuñez, 51, was accused of inappropriate and unwanted physical contact with a Geneva student during a Nov. 18 incident.
The Geneva City School District placed Nuñez on administrative leave after learning of concerns, and he later resigned.
Police arrested him Dec. 2 on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
The Ontario County District Attorney's Office said Nuñez was placed on interim probation supervision for one year and must permanently give up his New York teaching certification.
