Cato man charged after property damaged during Conquest dispute

A Cato man was charged with criminal mischief after Cayuga County deputies said he damaged a window and flowerpot during a domestic dispute in Conquest.

Deputies responded to a residence around 8:10 a.m. Sunday and arrested Gavin M. Clarke, 22, after speaking with people at the scene.

Clarke was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and taken to the Cayuga County Public Safety Building for processing.

He was arraigned in centralized arraignment court, where an order of protection was issued. Clarke was released and is due in Conquest Town Court at a later date.

The charge is an allegation, and Clarke is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
