Person seriously injured in fall from Ithaca balcony

A person was flown to a regional trauma center Thursday after falling from a third-floor balcony at an Ithaca apartment complex, police said. Ithaca police, Ithaca firefighters and Bangs Ambulance responded July 9 to Cayuga Garden Apartments in the 100 block of Chestnut Street for a report of the fall.

The person sustained serious injuries and was transported by LifeNet helicopter for treatment, according to the Ithaca Police Department.


Police said the cause and circumstances of the fall remain under investigation. No further information was released.
