Children in the Clyde-Savannah school district can receive free breakfasts and lunches through a new nine-week summer program, according to RochesterFirst.
The program began July 6 and allows families to pick up a full week of meals every Monday from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
The meals are available to all children 18 and younger and include dairy products, fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
District officials said demand has already reached record levels, with 43 families and 89 students served per day during the program’s opening days.
The district expects participation to grow as families continue to face rising grocery costs and limited access to summer meal sites.
