Man faces felony charges after woman jumps from moving car in Dundee

A Himrod man was charged with felony DWI after Yates County deputies responded to a Dundee domestic incident involving a woman who jumped from a moving vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

Deputies were called to Water Street in the village of Dundee at 10:26 p.m. June 28 for a report of an injured woman in the roadway, according to the Yates County Sheriff's Office.


Investigators said the woman and the driver, Michael R. Hill, had been involved in a verbal domestic incident before she jumped from the vehicle.

Deputies said Hill showed signs of impairment during the investigation. He was placed through standardized field sobriety tests and arrested.

Hill, 38, of Himrod, was charged with felony common-law DWI and felony DWI with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater.

Dundee Ambulance and Mercy Flight assisted at the scene. Deputies S. Walker and Z. Presher and Sgt. Aini responded, according to the release.
