A Brutus man was arrested on a felony criminal mischief warrant after deputies said he damaged a vehicle during a domestic incident in Weedsport.
Joshua L. Locust, 37, was arrested June 26 at 3 a.m. on an arrest warrant charging him with third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.
Deputies said they were called June 25 at about 12:09 p.m. to the area of Oakland Road and Earl Street for a reported domestic violence incident inside a car. The female victim told deputies Locust had fled before they arrived.
Investigators said Locust had been arguing with the victim inside her car and began kicking the dashboard and windshield, damaging both. Deputies searched for him but did not find him, and a judge later signed an arrest warrant.
Locust turned himself in the next morning. He was arraigned in CAP Court and released on his own recognizance.
