A Geneva nonprofit focused on reuse and waste reduction is preparing for another public pop-up sale next month featuring everything from rugs and lamps to salvaged laboratory furniture from a recently closed college science building.
ReUse Systems, Inc. announced it will hold its second pop-up sale June 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Geneva Enterprise Development Center on North Genesee Street.
Organizers said the event will feature household and office furnishings, including bookshelves, mirrors, upholstery fabric and lamps, along with a distinctive collection of mid-20th century laboratory furniture rescued from a decommissioned academic building.
The collection includes large maple laboratory tables, wooden stools, whiteboards, projector screens and other vintage pieces built with heavy-duty materials designed for long-term institutional use.
The nonprofit said the event is intended to attract community members, collectors, antique dealers, retailers and shoppers interested in durable vintage and contemporary furnishings.
Admission to the sale will be free and open to the public.
ReUse Systems, Inc. is a newly formed nonprofit organization focused on reducing landfill waste through reuse, repair and material recovery efforts. In addition to resale operations, the organization said it plans to launch deconstruction services aimed at salvaging reusable building materials and eventually host community “Fix-It Clinics” where volunteers help repair household items.
Organizers previously held an April pop-up event that drew shoppers and volunteers interested in reclaimed furniture and reusable materials.
