Firefighters from multiple Ontario County agencies battled a large brush fire late Thursday night in the Town of Farmington.
The Farmington Volunteer Fire Association said crews were dispatched around 10:03 p.m. along with Victor-Farmington Volunteer Ambulance and the Victor Fire Department for a reported large fire near Collett Road.
When firefighters arrived, crews found a large brush pile fully involved and requested additional mutual aid, including a brush truck from the Manchester Fire Department and a standby crew from Canandaigua Professional Firefighters Local 2098.
Fire officials said crews worked for about two hours before the fire was declared under control. The Town of Farmington Highway Department was later requested to assist with overhaul operations at the scene.
Authorities said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
