A long-awaited piece of the Southworks redevelopment is moving forward in Ithaca, according to The Ithaca Voice, with plans calling for 100 income-restricted apartments near the former Emerson factory site.
Developers want to build two apartment buildings with units aimed at households earning 50% to 80% of the area median income. Planned rents range from roughly $1,000 to just over $2,000 per month, depending on unit size and income qualifications.
The $23.6 million project would include all-electric buildings, a courtyard, parking, and a dog run. Developers hope to begin construction this fall and open the complex in 2028 after city review and approvals.
