Bronx man charged with DWI, resisting arrest in Yates County

A Bronx man was arrested early Tuesday morning after Yates County sheriff’s deputies said he refused to cooperate during a traffic stop in the town of Milo and later declined a chemical test.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle around 1:20 a.m. on State Route 14A after observing it operating with a suspended registration.

Deputies said 28-year-old Chase Fendrich allegedly moved into the passenger seat after the vehicle was stopped. Investigators said Fendrich then refused to identify himself or exit the vehicle as deputies attempted to continue their investigation.

Fendrich was charged with driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, operating with a suspended registration and operating without insurance.

Authorities said he refused to submit to a chemical test and was transported to the Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
