Auburn man charged after burglary incidents on Miller Street

An Auburn man was arrested this week after police linked him to two separate incidents at the same Miller Street residence, including an alleged burglary and later trespassing complaint.

According to Auburn Police, officers were first dispatched to the residence May 10 after a homeowner reported returning home to find someone had broken into the house.

Investigators said the victim discovered items inside the residence that did not belong to them and believed had been left behind by the suspect. Police also said the suspect ate food belonging to the residents while inside the home. No suspect was initially located.

Officers returned to the same residence May 11 after receiving another report of a possible burglary. A neighbor told police they saw someone climb through a window into the residence before later leaving on foot.

Police said officers later located the suspect, identified as Kevin J. Bouley, 35.

According to investigators, items left behind inside the residence connected Bouley to both incidents.

Police charged Bouley with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny for the May 10 incident. For the May 11 incident, he was additionally charged with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.

Bouley was processed and transported to the Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment.
