Justin M. Pendleton, 38, of Port Byron, submitted fraudulent time sheets while working as a peer support advocate for Cayuga County Jail inmates through Nick’s Ride 4 Friends, police said. Investigators said the fraud stretched across five months last year.

Pendleton pleaded guilty to first-degree falsifying business records and received five years of probation Tuesday. He also paid $2,850.75 in restitution up front.
