Child care bills could shrink for thousands of New York families after a major state funding boost, according to Spectrum News 1.
The Child Care Assistance Program will receive about $3 billion in the 2027 state budget, a 40% increase over last year. The program helps low- and middle-income families pay for child care, with many families capped at $15 per week.
Monroe County will receive $108.6 million, up $18.3 million from last year. Families of four can qualify with incomes up to about $117,000, and the money can also cover some after-school programs for children ages 4 to 12.
