A Seneca Falls man was arrested Friday after police said he assaulted two juveniles during a dispute that prompted officers to respond to an in-progress altercation.
The Seneca Falls Police Department said officers were dispatched May 8 to a report of a physical altercation already underway. By the time officers arrived, the incident had been broken up, according to police.
Investigators determined that James Savarese, 55, allegedly initiated the confrontation by verbally abusing, spitting on, and striking two juveniles with closed fists. Police said no injuries were reported.
Because the individuals involved were under 17 years old, Savarese was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor.
Police said Savarese was processed and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. Orders of protection were requested on behalf of the juveniles involved.
