Cornell men’s golf closes Ivy Championship with best round, finishes seventh

Cornell men’s golf posted its strongest round of the weekend Sunday, shooting a 295 (+7) to close the Ivy League Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club’s Lower Course in Springfield, finishing seventh in the seven-team field with a 54-hole total of 924 (+60). The Big Red showed improvement in the final round, capping the three-day event with its lowest team score.

TJ Betlow delivered Cornell’s top round of the tournament, firing a 71 (-1) to lead the team on Sunday. The junior’s final-round surge helped him finish tied for 21st individually at +15. Tyler Debusschere also closed strong, carding his second straight 73 (+1) after rebounding from a difficult opening round. He finished 18th at +12, marking the highest individual placement for Cornell.

Weston Warden added a 78 (+6) in the final round to tie for 21st at +15, while Adithya Venkataraghavan posted a 76 (+4) to place 31st at +24. Shep Davis rounded out the lineup with a 75 (+3), finishing 32nd at +25. As a team, Cornell showed steady progress over the final 18 holes, highlighted by Betlow’s under-par performance.

Harvard captured the team title with a 54-hole score of 874 (+10), edging Princeton by one stroke. Princeton’s Reed Greyserman and Harvard’s Barry Zhang shared medalist honors at 212 (-4). Cornell concludes its season with the Ivy League Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club.
