A reported domestic incident in Auburn led to the arrest of a man accused of assaulting his girlfriend earlier this month, according to police.
Officers were dispatched April 17 to the area of Auburn Community Hospital after a woman reported she had been assaulted during an argument at a residence on Liberty Street.
Police said the victim told officers her boyfriend, identified as Robert C. Webb, struck her in the face and threw her onto a bed during the altercation. She then left the residence, drove to the hospital area, and flagged someone down to call 911.
Officers later located Webb at the Genesee Garden Apartments and took him into custody without incident.
Webb, 44, was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. He was transported to the Cayuga County Jail, where he was held following arraignment.
