The music of one of the most influential bands in history will take center stage at Finger Lakes Community College next month, as students and faculty bring a chart-topping tribute to life.
The college’s annual Spring Arts Festival on May 1 will feature “The Beatles No. 1s,” a live performance highlighting songs that defined a generation and topped global charts.
The event will be held in the main campus auditorium, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the concert beginning at 7 p.m. The evening will conclude with the Student Honors Art Exhibition awards ceremony, while student artwork will be on display in the Williams-Insalaco Gallery 34 starting at 6 p.m.
The concert will include iconic hits such as “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Help!,” “Hey Jude,” and “Let It Be,” performed by a student ensemble under the direction of music professor Geoff Smith. The group features a mix of instrumentalists and vocalists from across the college’s music program.
Vocalists will be directed by adjunct instructor Maria Gillard, with participation from a range of student performers.
Organizers say the Spring Arts Festival is a longstanding tradition within the college’s Visual and Performing Arts Department, showcasing student talent across disciplines while drawing in the broader community.
The event is free and open to the public.
