The Cornell Big Red men’s lacrosse team defeated the Dartmouth Big Green, 15-9, on Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field, using a decisive late run to secure an Ivy League victory and improve to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play. Cornell extended its winning streak against Dartmouth to 14 games and remained unbeaten all-time at the Hanover venue.

Cornell controlled much of the first half, building a 6-4 lead behind balanced scoring before Dartmouth surged early in the second half. The Big Green scored three consecutive goals to take a 7-6 lead, putting the Big Red on the defensive. However, Cornell quickly responded, tying the game late in the third quarter before taking over with a six-goal run that spanned into the fourth. That stretch created separation and shifted momentum firmly back to the visitors.

Ryan Goldstein led the offensive effort with six points on five goals and an assist, continuing his strong season while climbing into the program’s top 10 in career scoring. Rowyn Nurry added three goals, including two during the pivotal run, while Willem Firth contributed three goals and an assist. Jack Herendeen scored twice, and Jack Cascadden controlled possession throughout, winning 19 of 23 faceoffs and collecting 15 ground balls.

Defensively, Cornell tightened up late, holding Dartmouth scoreless in the fourth quarter. Matthew Tully anchored the effort with 13 saves, helping the Big Red close the game strong after the brief second-half setback.

Box Score

Cornell will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 25 at 12 p.m. when it hosts Harvard at Schoellkopf Field.
