An Auburn woman has admitted to stabbing two people in a violent incident last year, pleading guilty this week in Cayuga County Court.
Kelly M. Vroman, 40, entered guilty pleas on April 16 to one count of attempted first-degree assault, a class C violent felony, and one count of second-degree assault, a class D violent felony, according to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said the charges stem from a May 20, 2025 incident in the city of Auburn, where Vroman stabbed one victim in the abdomen in an attempt to cause serious physical injury. She also admitted to intentionally injuring a second victim during the same incident.
Emergency responders transported the victims to the hospital, where one remained for several days but did not suffer permanent internal injuries. The second victim was treated and released the following day.
Police later located Vroman hiding in the attic of her residence roughly two hours after the stabbings, authorities said.
Under the plea agreement, Vroman faces a potential sentence of up to 22 years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision. Sentencing is scheduled for July 10.
The case is being prosecuted by the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office.
