CANANDAIGUA — City officials are inviting residents to learn how local agencies respond to severe weather events during an upcoming public forum focused on emergency preparedness.
The session, scheduled for April 30, will bring together representatives from the Canandaigua Fire Department, Police Department, Department of Public Works, and city leadership to walk through how the city handles issues like flooding, downed trees and power outages.
Officials say the event is designed to give residents a clearer understanding of what happens behind the scenes during storms, as well as what they should know and do before the next weather emergency hits.
The forum will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 p.m., at the Canandaigua Emergency Squad Community Room on North Pearl Street.
City leaders say the event is free and open to the public, and encourage residents to attend and ask questions about emergency response and preparedness.
