An inmate at Auburn Correctional Facility has been indicted on felony charges stemming from an alleged assault on a correction officer last year, Cayuga County prosecutors said Friday.
Adrian Porter was arraigned in Cayuga County Court on two counts of second-degree assault related to an incident that occurred Sept. 29, 2025, while he was incarcerated at the facility .
According to the indictment, Porter is accused of assaulting a correction officer during the incident. Additional details about the circumstances of the alleged assault were not provided.
Porter is scheduled to return to court on July 10 for motions and remains pending trial.
Prosecutors noted that Porter is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The case is being handled by Chief Assistant District Attorney Christopher T. Valdina.
