A series of arrests across Schuyler County in late March included charges ranging from driving while intoxicated and burglary to domestic violence-related offenses and multiple counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities reported the arrests as part of routine patrols, traffic stops and investigations conducted throughout the county between March 16 and March 29.
Among the most serious cases, Alyssa C. Tette, 22, of Penn Yan, was charged with driving while intoxicated, having a blood alcohol content above .08, driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following an investigation in the Town of Hector. Albert J. Jones, 36, of Watkins Glen, was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief after a domestic violence incident in the Town of Dix.
Several arrests were tied to domestic incidents or violations of court orders. Edward L. McKie Jr., 42, of Elmira, was charged with aggravated family offense and second-degree criminal contempt following a complaint in the Town of Dix. Audrey M. Smith, 39, of Beaver Dams, was charged with second-degree harassment after a domestic incident in the Town of Orange. Ashley Decker-Cornish, 32, of Beaver Dams, and Jonathan T. Knotch, 24, of Montour Falls, were both arrested on outstanding warrants related to probation violations.
Other arrests stemmed from forgery and theft-related allegations. Marcio Salles, 54, of the Bronx, was charged with second-degree forgery following a traffic stop in the Town of Montour. Samantha J. Bush, 34, of Montour Falls, was charged with petit larceny after a complaint at a Dollar General store in the village.
A number of traffic stops also resulted in charges of aggravated unlicensed operation. Those charged include Jason L. Bellows, 28, of Burdett; Johnnie M. Shingler, 39, of Ridgewood; Buck L. Bates, 41, of Elmira; Jennifer L. Martin, 43, of Lowman; Kevin L. Wilson, 68, of North Rose; and Ian J. Hradisky, 28, of Millport. All were issued tickets to appear in local courts.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
