Driver critically hurt after Ontario County crash

A violent intersection crash sent one man to the hospital in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, according to RochesterFirst.

Troopers with the New York State Police said a 55-year-old driver ran a red light at Route 7 and Route 96 in the Manchester, triggering a collision with a box truck. Both vehicles flipped and landed off the road.

The injured driver was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The other driver suffered minor injuries and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

The roadway has reopened as the investigation continues.
