New York’s health commissioner says COVID-19 is sending three times more people to the hospital than the flu, yet far fewer residents are getting vaccinated, according to Spectrum News.
Dr. Jim McDonald warned that COVID vaccine uptake is 30% lower than last year, with some upstate counties showing vaccination rates as low as 6% to 10%. He’s urging New Yorkers to get both flu and COVID shots ahead of holiday gatherings.
Doctors also caution against relying on supplements alone, stressing that serious illness still requires medical care.
