Gouverneur man arrested after motel threats and drug possession

State Police arrested a 28-year-old Gouverneur man after he allegedly threatened someone with a knife during a confrontation at a local motel, and was later found with narcotics and stolen property.

Timothy R. Fadden was taken into custody on November 27 following a search by State Police and Gouverneur Village Police. The incident began around 11:15 a.m. when troopers responded to the Clearview Motel on U.S. Route 11 for a trespassing complaint.

According to investigators, Fadden and another individual had gotten into a verbal argument when Fadden pulled a knife and made threatening remarks. He left the scene before police arrived.

Officers later located and arrested Fadden. During a search, they discovered narcotics in his possession, along with credit and debit cards that belonged to someone else. Police say the stolen cards were tied to a separate, ongoing investigation with the Gouverneur Police Department.

Fadden was charged with second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was processed at SP Gouverneur and arraigned in Town of Gouverneur Court, where he was released under probation supervision.
