Anyone who visited the Ithaca Sciencenter last Saturday from 2–5pm may have been exposed to chickenpox, according to Tompkins County Whole Health.
The virus spreads through the air or by touching sores, and symptoms can take up to 20 days to show. Unvaccinated kids, pregnant people, and those with weak immune systems face the highest risk.
Vaccines are available at doctor’s offices, pharmacies, and the county health department.
