Seneca Falls police launch anonymous tip system

The Seneca Falls Police Department has launched a new alert and anonymous tip system designed to improve communication with the public.

The system, called tip411, allows residents to receive alerts and submit tips through a mobile app, text message or online.

Officials said the platform enables users to share information about crime or suspicious activity anonymously, with identifying details removed before tips reach police.

The system also allows officers to respond to tips, creating a two-way anonymous conversation.

Residents can sign up to receive neighborhood-specific or town-wide alerts via email or text message.

The department said the system may replace its current CodeRed emergency alert system.

“Our mission is to protect the safety of all who live, work, and visit Seneca Falls,” said Police Chief Timothy Snyder. “The Seneca Falls PD app will allow our community to share information safely and anonymously, helping us work together to address concerns and keep our neighborhoods safe.”

Officials said the system is not a replacement for 911 in emergencies.
