Two lucky New Yorkers are nearly $10,000 richer after hitting the top prize in the New York Lottery’s TAKE 5 midday drawing.
Lottery officials say winning tickets worth $9,702.50 were sold for the November 8 drawing at two locations: Smokes 4 Less in Newburgh and Price Chopper on Erie Boulevard East in Syracuse.
TAKE 5 drawings happen twice a day, with numbers picked from a field of 1 to 39. Winners have up to a year to claim their prize.
The New York Lottery contributes billions annually to public education across the state.
