Officials push to rebuild trust in elections

Low voter confidence may have kept 5.7 million Americans from voting in 2024, according to the nonpartisan States United Democracy Center, Spectrum News reports.


In Monroe County, election officials are responding by promoting transparency at a new all-in-one elections HQ. Both Republican and Democratic commissioners say restoring faith in elections is critical to boosting turnout.

They’re urging skeptics to get involved — as poll workers or observers — to see firsthand how bipartisan teams safeguard the vote in New York.
