What started as a routine traffic stop on I-90 turned into a major arrest when state troopers discovered the driver was wanted for murder.
According to New York State Police, 25-year-old Terrene L. Biggs of Warren, Michigan, was pulled over around 2:35 a.m. on September 24 for speeding in the town of Portland.
During the stop, troopers learned Biggs had two active arrest warrants — one out of Vermont for second-degree murder, and another from Florida for assault. He was also found in possession of suboxone, a controlled substance.
Biggs was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and fugitive from justice.
He was processed at the Dunkirk barracks and taken to Chautauqua County Jail, where he will be held pending extradition to Vermont.
