Four workplace bands lit up the stage at Anthology in Rochester — and helped raise more than $34,000 for United Way in just one night.
The second annual United Way LIVE concert, held Friday, September 12, brought out big crowds, big energy, and big impact. Bands from local employers battled it out for the “golden mic” by raising funds and rocking the stage — all in support of United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes.
Friendly competition fuels real impact
The lineup included:
- Sage Against the Machine (Sage Rutty & Co.)
- Refer with Caution (Genesee Regional Bank)
- ESL House Band (ESL Federal Credit Union)
- The Blues Breakers w/s/g The Puckdaddys (Excellus BlueCross BlueShield)
In the end, ESL House Band took home the top prize — and bragging rights — as this year’s golden mic winner.
“United Way LIVE continues to prove that doing good truly feels good,” said Jaime Saunders, United Way’s president and CEO. “Raising over $34,000 in just our second year shows the incredible power of what started as a small idea.”
Supporting local needs
All proceeds from the event go toward United Way’s work in the region — connecting people to food, shelter, education, and critical services during tough times.
