The Buffalo Bills received devastating news just a week before their 2025 season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter will miss the entire season with a torn Achilles tendon that he suffered sometime last week in practice.
Carter, Buffalo’s third-round pick in 2024, had been projected as a key rotational player on the defensive line. Listed as the second-string left defensive tackle behind Ed Oliver, he appeared in 11 games as a rookie, starting three, and totaled 14 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits.
With Carter sidelined, Buffalo will turn to T.J. Sanders and Deone Walker to fill the void in the defensive front, at least until veteran DT Larry Ogunjobi returns from his six-game suspension.
