ESL Federal Credit Union earns national mortgage award again

For the second year in a row, ESL Federal Credit Union has received a top honor from Freddie Mac for helping low-to-moderate income buyers achieve homeownership.

The Rochester-based lender was named a winner of the 2025 Home Possible RISE Award for Greatest Volume, recognizing institutions that produce the highest number of Home Possible® mortgages in a year. In 2024, ESL issued 181 of these affordable loans across the community.

“ESL is honored to once again be named as a recipient of the Home Possible Rise Award,” said Jim Miller, Vice President and Director of Mortgage Lending at ESL. “We are committed to providing ESL members with affordable and accessible mortgage solutions to help them achieve their homeownership goals, and this recognition is a testament to that commitment.”

The Home Possible RISE Awards—short for Recognizing Individuals for Sustained Excellence—celebrate lenders who deliver meaningful impact through Freddie Mac’s affordable loan programs. The Home Possible product line offers flexible mortgage options tailored to first-time and lower-income buyers.
