A long-overlooked park is finally getting the tribute its name promises, according to the Hornell Evening Tribune.
City leaders and local veterans groups are building a new memorial wall at Veterans Memorial Park on James Street, with completion expected by the Fourth of July. The design will feature military branch emblems and prominent lettering.
The project is funded through community donations and partnerships. Officials say it’s just the start, with future additions planned like a POW-MIA monument, themed benches, and illuminated flags to expand the tribute.
