Canandaigua man arrested for felony DWI, multiple traffic violations

A Canandaigua man with a history of drunk driving offenses was arrested early Sunday for felony Driving While Intoxicated and multiple other violations, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies stopped Tyshawn D. Williams, 38, on State Route 21 in the Town of Manchester around 12:33 a.m. During the investigation, authorities determined that Williams was intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher. He was also found to have 16 license suspensions or revocations at the time of the stop.

In addition to felony DWI, Williams faces charges of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, Speed Not Reasonable or Prudent, and multiple vehicle equipment violations, including operating a vehicle without headlamps or tail lamps and driving an uninspected motor vehicle.

Due to prior DWI convictions within the past ten years, his latest charge was elevated to a Class D felony. Williams was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending a centralized arraignment.
